Baby Bottle Tooth Decay

Prolonged nursing and bottle drinking, particularly at bedtime, puts children at risk.

This disease can be prevented by discontinuing the use of the bottle at 12 to 13 months, never using a bottle to induce sleep, and daily cleaning of the teeth and gums.

Early detection is the key to stopping this serious form of dental disease. If cavities form, fillings or crowns can be placed in the dental office or in many instances, in a hospital operating room under general anesthesia.
